“The Interlude”

Debut Project From 1.to.Dial
Episode 0 in The GRYSKLL Saga

"The Interlude" is coming to vinyl. Five years after GRYSKLL's first release, this EP is heading to physical collectors for the first time, pressed on the B side of "A Tension Deficit." The official announcement is coming soon.

1.to.Dial and Dragon's Pitchfork worked together before GRYSKLL was a crew, and "The Interlude" grew out of that connection. Released in January 2024, it's the prequel to "A Tension Deficit," Episode 0 in a saga that hadn't been named yet when the first song was written.

1.to.Dial is one of GRYSKLL's founding emcees, half of The Black Mavericks, and a DJ whose resume includes the 2016 Democratic National Convention. He's also a producer, he provided the beats behind GRYSKLL cuts like "Born" and "The DAO Tone," and rhymed alongside Dragon's Pitchfork on "The DAO Tone" itself. He's appeared on a number of GRYSKLL songs since.

"The Interlude" runs eight songs, moving between boom bap, soul, jazz, and gospel textures with a few experimental turns, all delivered with the ease that comes from decades on the mic. Qthulu co-produced, mixed, and mastered the project. Cover art and visualizers by Yani for House of Fluid Reflections, with the "Storytime: The Interlude" series built out by HFR and aL Bakwurdz.

For the vinyl pressing, Qthulu remastered "The Interlude" in full.
